Advantage: Diagnostic Codes (#1-7)

#1
Problem The upper pinch valve (reverse valve, high bottle) does not open or close.
Solution
  1. It may be stuck by dried BSS. Press the reflux foot pedal several times.
  2. If the valve does not move, squirt a small amount of warm, distilled water onto the valve
#2
Problem The middle pinch valve (infusion valve, low bottle) does not open or close.
Solution
  1. It may be stuck by dried BSS. Depress foot pedal to position #1 several times.
  2. If the valve does not move, squirt a small amount of warm, distilled water onto the valve with a syringe and needle to dissolve any dried BSS in the valve.
#3
Problem The bottom pinch valve (aspiration valve, plug in) does not open or close.
Solution
  1. It may be stuck by dried BSS. This valve closes only during the prime cycle to check vacuum. Press the PRIME button. Check if it moves in step #3.
  2. If the valve does not move, squirt a small amount of warm, distilled water onto the valve with a syringe and needle to dissolve any dried BSS in the valve.
#4
Problem Insufficient pressure from the Reflux bottle.
Solution
  1. Open the Reverse Bottle line clamp if closed.
  2. Make sure, that the Bottle is hanging on appropriate height.
  3. Make sure, that BSS is dripping, when reverse valve is open by Reflux foot pedal.
#5
Problem No vacuum is built.
Solution
  1. Check the pump tubing for kinks and notches. Check that pump is fully closed. Check to make sure that the tubing is correctly placed in the pump.
  2. Check to see if the aspiration plug is completely plugged into the transducer.
  3. Check, that the aspiration line is placed at the bottom pinch valve correctly
#6
Problem No venting. Occlusion in the aspiration path.
Solution
  1. Activate the Reflux foot pedal and observe if any fluid is coming out of the hand piece aspirating port. If no fluid is seen, some occlusion exists.
  2. Disconnect the tubing from the hand piece and activate the Reflux foot pedal again. If fluid is running from the tubing, must be a clog in the hand piece.
  3. Clean the instrument thoroughly using a syringe and distilled water or place the instrument in an ultrasonic bath, flush aspiration line or replace tubing.
#7
Problem Pump is not building vacuum effectively.
Solution
  1. Inspect pump tubing. Make sure that the tubing is correctly placed on the pump and that it is not worn and needs replacing. Use only SDC pump tubing.
  2. Check aspiration line is correctly placed in the bottom pinch valve and that valve closes completely in step #7.
  3. Check the O-rings in the aspiration plug. If they are damaged, replace them.
NOTE: To escape from the ERROR status, depress PRIME switch again.
